Newport Beach riders get the best of both: the flat Back Bay loop for easy days, and the climbs up Newport Coast Drive and toward Pelican Hill when you want to suffer. Add the coast road south to Crystal Cove and Laguna, and it's easy to rack up big miles. The catch is salt air. It works its way into chains, cables and bolts, so coastal bikes need cleaning and lubing more often than inland ones.

Questions riders ask
Do you have a Newport Beach shop?
No. We're one shop, in Santa Ana at 3420 W MacArthur Blvd Suite B, about 8.5 miles by road from the Newport Beach Civic Center (approximate, from OpenStreetMap routing).
Does salt air really matter for my bike?
Yes. Salt speeds up corrosion on chains, cables, bolts and bearings. Wiping and re-lubing the chain after coastal rides and a regular service go a long way.
Veloaded Cyclery has one location, in Santa Ana. We don't have a shop in Newport Beach.
