Huntington Beach coastal trail
A paved beach path of roughly 8.5 miles from Bolsa Chica State Beach to the Santa Ana River Trail by Huntington State Beach (TrailLink).
Huntington Beach is a coastal riding town with two great off-street paths: the beach trail and the Santa Ana River Trail. We're a Santa Ana shop about 6.5 miles by road from HB City Hall.
Huntington Beach riders split their miles between the beach path, PCH and the Santa Ana River Trail, which meets the coast at the city's southeast corner. It's flat, fast and scenic, and it's tough on bikes: sand gets into drivetrains, and salt air corrodes chains, cables and bolts. Coastal bikes simply need cleaning and lubrication more often.
We don't have a shop in Huntington Beach. Our one location is in Santa Ana, a straight shot up Talbert Ave.
About 6.5 miles by road from Huntington Beach City Hall (2000 Main St) (5.2 miles in a straight line). Approximate: computed from OpenStreetMap coordinates and routing data. Traffic and your exact start point change it.
From City Hall at 2000 Main St, go north on Main St, then Ellis Ave and Newland St to Talbert Ave. Head east on Talbert for about 3 miles. You'll cross the Santa Ana River, where Talbert becomes MacArthur Blvd; the shop is just under a mile past the river, between Harbor Blvd and Fairview St, in Suite B.
Riding instead? Take the Santa Ana River Trail north from PCH to the Talbert/MacArthur crossing, then head east on MacArthur.

Starts at PCH south of Brookhurst St and runs north along the river, about 29 miles in Orange County to Yorba Linda (OC Parks). From the beach to our shop is a flat ride up the trail.
Pacific Coast Highway north toward Seal Beach or south through Newport Beach. Wide and fast in places, busy on summer weekends.
For HB bikes we recommend a tune-up with a full drivetrain clean, plus a cable and housing check. We also set up tubeless, true wheels (wheel service) and work on triathlon bikes.
No. Our only shop is in Santa Ana, at 3420 W MacArthur Blvd Suite B, about 6.5 miles by road from Huntington Beach City Hall (approximate, from OpenStreetMap routing).
If you ride the beach path or PCH often, wipe and re-lube the chain every week or two, and after any ride through sand or wet salt air. Bring it in if shifting starts to feel gritty.
Veloaded Cyclery has one location, in Santa Ana. We don't have a shop in Huntington Beach.
